|Sunday, June 24 Sounds of Summer Festival The Debt, John Wolfe and 12 Stuck 5-9 pm|
The Debt plays classic and definitive rock and roll and features “the most local of local performers”, 2 of whom live within shouting distance of the band shell. The Norwood Village Green Concert Series has called upon performers from around the world and around the corner. The Debt is from the latter.
Its members include Andy Van Duyne, (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Geoff Hayton (guitar, vocals), Jon Hunkins (drums), and Greg Jadlos (bass, vocals).
With special arrangements by Andy Van Duyne, the Debt has added a horn section and a keyboard player for some recent performances. Dave Alderson, trumpet, Tim Savage, saxophone and Don Canamella, trombone, will join Scott LaVine, keyboards to perform these arrangements that further enhance The Debt’s already powerful presentation.
Seasoned North Country performer John Wolfe has performed solo and with various groups in venues as diverse as Nashville’s Fanfare and the New York State Fair, and in groups such as The Lime Hollow Boys and the Norwood Brass Firemen. The music he performs is as familiar as the beloved Hank Williams classics and as new as his own freshly composed original songs. His has honed his skills on various instruments such as harmonica, banjo, guitar, and trumpet. He has honed his vocal skills in many folk and country styles. He is, in a catch phrase, an innately natural musician.
What musical path is taken when you put two experienced musicians like Bruce Dewey and Rob Zolner together? It's the entertaining combination of a powerful vocal delivery backed by solid guitar playing. 12 Struck is an acoustic duo with a rock and roll edge that is equally comfortable performing a tender love song or an all out rocker.
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter, Recording Engineer Rob Zolner is a talented musician involved in many musical endeavors, perhaps most recognized as the original and ongoing Guitarist/Vocalist of the well known, very popular North Country Group 'Double Axel'. Respected for his expertise, he is often called upon by musicians in need of a seasoned professional for recording projects and/or live musical performance. The Crane School of Music currently employs him to record recitals and concerts.
Over the years, Bruce Dewey has been involved in bands to numerous to name. Initially becoming well known and respected in the North Country as a top-notch drummer and vocalist (Stargazer/Sudden Impact/Where's Charlie/Agent 86/Wicker Man), Dewey has fronted as a lead vocalist, Next 2 Never. Eventually adding guitar to his accomplishments, he recently spent two years as lead guitarist for Plan B. In addition to his singing and playing skills he is also a songwriter.
