June 4, 2013 Dear Friends, Thank you! We have recoverd from this ordeal. We are back on track and as of today have raised $16,315 surpassing our minimum budgetary goal of $16,000 and going forward toward our "lofty" or ideal goal of $20,000. We have $3,685 to go and we have until August 31st to reach it. Keep up the good work and if you haven't contributed yet you can see that there is still time. We still need your donation. Norwood Village Green Concert Series, 3 Bicknell Street, Norwood, NY 13668...................
April 29, 2012 Dear Friends, The Norwood Village Green Concert Series has experienced an emergency in its fund raising. Please help us out of a potential disaster. Until March 15th our fund raising was on-track and doing nicely. We have always been successful conducting our campaign via direct mail, BUT direct mail via the United States Postal Service has thrown us a Slerve and a Screwball. Here is where we need your help.
The Slerve: While I am in Florida I have my mail forwarded. Here is where there has been a breakdown. On or about March 15th my forwarded mail stopped. After much discussion with the local Norwood Postmaster he finally located my mail on April 1st and mailed it all to me in a large package on April 2nd. Included in that mailing was any donations to the concert series made from March 8th until April 3rd, It also included some documents I requested from the IRS to access a grant from a foundation. That can be recovered. In some cases donations were returned to the sender. You know who you are. All of the above amounts to an estimated $6000. The Screwball: That large package of forwarded mail the local postmaster in Norwood located and mailed on April 2nd never arrived. My local postmaster is working on locating it and so is the postmaster in Florida as well as the two USPS Consumer Affairs District offices, one in Albany and the other in Tampa. My gut feeling is that all of that mail is totally lost. It has been frustrating. What to do? 1. If you mailed us a check between March 8th and April 3rd please write us another check? If I do eventually receive your original check I will return it to you. 2. If you didn’t mail us a check yet we still love you BUT now is a great time to consider your contribution and in fact take positive action. We’ll love you even more. We still need to raise $9000 in individual, business and organizational donations. We want to do that by May 26th. Sincerely Joseph M.
